About Marco Salgado

Marco Salgado — Santiago, Chile, is a partner in the Corporate Practice Group at Salgado & O'Ryan Abogados. He advises companies on corporate matters and M&A deals in Chile and across the region. He has extensive experience representing Chilean and foreign companies before judicial and arbitral tribunals in Chile and abroad. Marco is interested in transactional and cross-border law, particularly how to navigate the challenges of the interaction between different legal systems. Marco enjoys being a law professor at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, where he has lectured on M&A and corporate governance in Chile, Guatemala, and Panama. He also holds a Master's degree in Applied Philosophy from the Universidad de los Andes. He was a partner at DLA Piper for nearly a decade, worked for Shutts & Bowen LLP in Miami, Florida, and was a Michigan Grotius Research Fellow at the University of Michigan Law School. Marco was also an assistant instructor of the International Business Transactions course at the University of Miami School of Law. He started his career in law as a highly decorated Law Officer at the Chilean Army, where he was the recipient of the "Comando de Institutos Militares Award", year 2004.
