About Marcos Grassini

I started my career as a trainee auditor at BDO, from there I moved onto an internal controls and processes function and later management accounting function at GFI Group, an interdealer broker based in London. Upon my return to South Africa I joined Alfa Chicks where I was responsible for the operational and financial management of a business that distributes day old broiler chicks to small and emerging farmers within a radius of 600 kilometres from Pretoria. After 12 years I joined Eagles Pride Hatchery as hatchery manager at one of six hatcheries within the Kuipers Group. I am responsible for ensuring the hatchery runs according to established company procedures and practices to ensure that our customers receive the expected high quality of day old chicks. I recognise that people make businesses and that managing and inspiring staff at all levels is the most important function of my job and that the reward at the end of the day is a happy customer.
