About Marcos Huerta

I started out as a grocery associate working for Walmart learning the basics of retail, and learning what it took to work in the retail environment. I've then achieved my first management position after just a few months to the grocery department management, where I learned how to lead a team of Associates to complete tasks and meet goals within my department. Figuring out how to make a plan and than executing that plan in a time manner, figuring out who would be the best person to complete tasks in a timely manner and helping out to where I could. I learned being a manager that as a manager you have to be a well-rounded person. You have be able to manage your team to complete your tasks, but you also have to know when you should listen to your team to achieve your goals. After being a department manager I transferred to a different store. Unfortunately due to paperwork while transferring I lost my position and had to start all over again. It was a very unfortunate circumstance but I didn't let it get to me. I started in the lawn and Garden department which gave me a opportunity to build skills with heavy equipment. Shortly after that I went to the Sporting Goods Department. Working with firearms and dealing with background checks; handling federal and local paperwork. While working in Sporting Goods I applied for the Asset Protection Associate position and ultimately got the position. Working for Asset Protection came with a multitude of responsibilities such as knowing Deescalation skills, report writing, knowing local and federal law, respect for the individual, surveillance skills and much more. I've been able to build a professional relationship with both local law enforcement and the court system throughout my time as Asset Protection. I am currently looking for the next step I want to learn more and to provide skills and achieve a higher position.
