About Marcos Monteiro

My purpose with Veezoo is to enable people to make the right decisions with analytical confidence. What does it mean to make better decisions? How do you make better decisions? That's a topic I love talking about. I'm passionate about data and information. I believe access to information is one of the biggest drivers of progress in the history of humanity. Think about the Gutenberg press, the telephone, the internet, Bitcoin, LLMs - and all the revolutions that they enabled or are enabling.(I wrote more about this here: Information is a non-scarce resource that can be easily shared with others. Sharing information is a non-reversible process that ensures that good ideas are very likely to survive through time. And if we can spread many good ideas, then we can eventually spark an excellent idea. I'm also passionate about probability, statistics and the science of using information to make the right decisions. It's clear nowadays that easy access to data and information is not enough. We must be able to make sense of it all and draw the right conclusions. But how do we recognize and deal with incomplete information? What about incorrect information? Most people are not yet trained for that, but we can leverage Artificial Intelligence to assist them with it. We must empower more people with easy access to data and information; and we must enable them to make the right decisions with it. That's the one single thing we can do to dramatically improve productivity across the entire company, regardless of industry. But companies are still very, very far from that. And that's what motivates me to work every single day on our mission at Veezoo. We are empowering more people to take the right decisions with data. And that's a mission worth dedicating one's life to- SHORT BIO - After growing up in Rio de Janeiro, I moved to Zurich in 2010 to study Mathematics & Statistics at ETH Zurich. I specialised in computational statistics and artificial intelligence, graduating with distinction from ETH. My research explored an information theoretical perspective on how the brain encodes information in the primary visual cortex V1. In 2015, after winning the SIX Hackathon with an innovative idea, I decided to found Veezoo together with my brother and a colleague. The vision: to empower more people to take the right decisions with data. Veezoo provides them with the information that they need, at the exact moment when they need it. It is the ultimate interface to information.
