About Marcos Riveros

I’m Marcos Riveros, an English Language Educator and English Immersion Program Coordinator based in Concepción, Chile, currently completing a Master’s degree in TESOL. My professional work centres on English language teaching, program coordination, and the development of interdisciplinary projects that connect language learning with creativity, innovation, and meaningful communication. Today, I coordinate the English Immersion Program at Colegio Concepción, where I work closely with students and colleagues to design learning experiences that extend English beyond the traditional classroom. My path into education was not linear. Before becoming a teacher, I developed an international career in gastronomy, which allowed me to travel extensively, engage with diverse cultures, and connect with people through food and conversation. Those experiences continue to shape my perspective as an educator, particularly my belief in language as a tool for connection, curiosity, and human exchange. Since entering the field of education in 2017, I have found deep fulfilment in working with students, supporting their growth, and experimenting with creative approaches to teaching. I value reflection, cultural awareness, and authenticity as key elements of meaningful language learning. As a language teacher, my aim is to inspire curiosity, encourage confidence, and help others expand their worlds through the power of language.
