About Marcos Vilchez

As an experienced educator and current Head of Physics, my passion for teaching spans 18+ years across the UK, France, China, and Spain. Specialising in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology up to Key Stage 5, I strive to create an engaging and inquiry-based learning environment, inspiring a love for science in my students. A hallmark of my teaching approach is the innovative use of advanced IT skills to create interactive learning experiences. This practice simplifies complex scientific concepts for students of varying abilities. Beyond academics, I engage extensively in extracurricular activities, organise school trips, and share my love for martial arts with students - a passion recognized by two gold medals in a recent BJJ tournament. Throughout my career, including roles as Head of Key Stage 5 Science and my current position as Head of Physics, I've positively impacted wider school communities by developing strategies to boost student performance. Fluent in English, Spanish (Castellano), and French, my language skills have enriched my teaching experiences, enabling me to connect with a diverse range of students. My qualifications include a BSc (Hons) in Pharmacology and Biochemistry from King's College, London. Although I did not complete my PhD in Molecular Cell Biology at the University of Birmingham, the experience provided valuable insights into scientific research methodologies. With my holistic teaching approach, leadership skills, and dedication to continual learning, I bring a unique asset to any educational institution.
