About Marcus Bailey

I am currently in my senior year at IU South Bend studying Biological Sciences. I am particularly drawn to healthcare, and I plan to pursue a doctorate in dentistry upon graduation. My core values and background have made me cognizant of the discrepancies in healthcare, especially in medically underserved populations. During the Summer of 2022, I was fortunate to travel to Costa Rica where I provided dental assistance to dentally underserved partner communities. Throughout my ongoing undergraduate journey, I have participated in a myriad of extracurricular activities. I was honored to sit on my campus’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee where my effort was to support the campus’s action in establishing a strategic plan for diversity, equity, and inclusion in the student body, faculty, and administration. Moreover, I am an active member of the IUSB Honors Society, serving on the student leadership council for two consecutive academic years. I currently work as an academic tutor for general biology, general chemistry, and human anatomy and physiology survey courses.
