About Marcus Gomez

Aspiring student affairs professional with prior experience in student advocacy, counseling, event programming, and research. I'm a current 4th year Political Science major and Education Studies minor at UCLA that is on track to graduate Spring 2024. I have over 5 years of student government experience which has provided a strong foundation in advocacy work and a thorough understanding of various instructional/non-instructional departments within higher education institutions, at both the 2 year and 4 year level. Moreover, my prior experiences that are outlined below have further sharpened my skills in communication, critical thinking, organization, and leadership. In regards to research I'm highly interested in analyzing the sociopolitical and educational experiences of marginalized students while also improving upon current support systems in institutions of higher education for these students. Upon graduating from UCLA this spring I plan on returning in the Fall to begin my program as a student in UCLA's M.Ed. program in Student Affairs.
