About Marcus Horton
I joined the US Navy out of high school and was trained as an intelligence analyst which required me to hold a TS/SCI clearance. Our command was homeported in Japan and I was deployed several times in southeast Asia during the three and a half years in my role as an intelligence analyst. I graduated from Florida International University in 2018 with a degree in interdisciplinary studies, where I focused on courses in S.T.E.M. as well as being fortunate enough to also be able to take courses in sociology, economics, history, societies, geography, religion, intercultural communication, leadership and ethics. My background in public service and education has allowed me to be immersed in diverse cultures and perspectives. I've learned how to understand not just people on a deeper level but, the world and how social, economic, political and cultural situations shape local and global affairs. Currently completing an MS in Statistics at FIU.
