About Marcus Lee

In August 2017, I joined the City of San Antonio's Solid Waste Management Department as the Marketing Manager, Public Information Officer and Education & Outreach Manager. My focus is on our environmental programs an resource recovery. The City has a goal of a 60% recycling rate by 2020. My role with the SWMD is to formulate strategies and execute tactics to engage our customers toward reaching that goal. Prior to this, I consulted with Hamilton Insurance Group, Bermuda, assisting the Chief Communications Officer with brand and marketing initiatives. And before that, I was with Argo International in San Antonio for nine years becoming the Director of Brand Development. Argo Group is an international specialty underwriter of commercial insurance and reinsurance products including a Lloyd's syndicate. I also produced all the company's international events including the Argo Group Gold Cup in Bermuda. My experience includes marketing at USAA in San Antonio also Senior Director of Creative Services for Wyndham Hotels and Resorts corporate office in Dallas. I also have an advertising agency background with Ford Bennett in Houston as well as many years of experience in hotel sales, marketing and branding for Rosewood Hotels and Ritz-Carlton Hotels. My talent is managing talent. I have been leading internal teams and managing external partners my entire career. My philosophy on branding is simple. Decide what you are willing to promise.
