About Marcus Luebke

With a foundation in Design Thinking and a love for problem solving and learning new ideas, I thrive working in teams as well as independently, with the desire to build a better world. I’ve worked for startups, Fortune 500 and academic organizations, offering software development, data systems management, engineering, research, laboratory work and teaching. I've even served on a panel sponsored by the French Consulate meant to inspire discussion and hope about solving Climate Change. My independent research on real-time water electrolysis (including modeling, design, experimentation, and computer simulation/optimization) has been recognized with numerous awards and grants. But that's just the start. I worked with the Jaramillo Chemical Engineering lab at Stanford to develop nanocoatings that decrease photoelectrocatalyst degradation, the startup Endiatx to build pill-robots that swim through the GI tract to diagnose and treat illness, Oracle to develop internal software applications, Horizon Technology to support innovation projects and company data networks, and the College of San Mateo to offer mathematics instruction to undergraduate students. Previously, I studied at Stanford University (GPA = 4.1) with a passion for artificial intelligence (and AI safety/interpretability), fundamental physics, sustainability, and planning humanity's future. In my free time, you can find me cycling around the Bay Area, rock climbing, backpacking (at least I will once Coronavirus is over), building and playing video games, exploring the abstract universe mathematics lives in, reading Quanta magazine, and goofing around with my sister.
