About Marcus Maas

I am Geologist (B.Sc) from the University of Brasilia I got my Master Degree in Economic Geology at the same University (2003). In 2025, I got my PhD in Geophysics at the University of Oklahoma. I joined as Geophysicist at Petrobras in 2002. Since then, I have been working with interpretation of geophysical and geological data to evaluate the oil potential of basins, blocks and exploratory prospects. Proven oil finder. I have large experience on Basin, Play and Prospects evaluation and worked with the following basins:* Intracratonic Basins: Amazonas, Solimoes and Parnaiba;*Passive Margins:GoM, Guiana-Suriname, French Guiana, Foz do Amazonas, Para-Maranhao, Barreirinhas, Ceara, Potiguar, Campos and Santos Basins.* Since 2018 I´ve been working with Pre-salt production sharing assets at Santos Basin.* My nowadays main activities are: seismic prediction of permoporous lithologies within pre-salt carbonates using AVO and elastic attributes; Machine Learning assisted seismic facies and productivity prediction using multi-attributes and well data.
