About Marcus Nilsson

Currently working as a CTA with IQVIA, contracted to Johnson & Johnson, where I contribute to driving clinical trials forward with a focus on patient safety, data integrity, and study compliance. I have a diverse background as a former professional volleyball player with 16 years of international experience. Highlights include: • Best Player of Champions League, 2009 • Champions League winner and MVP, 2013 • Captain of the Swedish National Team for nearly a decade After retiring from sports, I transitioned to an academic and professional career in biomedicine. I earned a BSc in Biomedicine – Exercise Physiology from the University of Halmstad in 2021, followed by a BMSc in Biomedical Laboratory Science from Gothenburg University in 2023. I also have hands-on experience from working at the Nuclear Medicine Department at the hospital in Halmstad, performing diagnostic examinations of organ function using radiopharmaceuticals and manufacturing these compounds in our lab. My background as a high-performing athlete has equipped me with exceptional skills in teamwork, communication, and adaptability. These qualities, combined with my determination to excel and thrive under pressure, have been invaluable in my biomedical and clinical operations career. In 2025, I had the honour of winning the Swedish television competition Mästarnas Mästare – a once-in-a-lifetime experience that tested both body and mind, and reminded me of the power of perseverance, focus, and camaraderie.
