About Marcus Zacarias

Leadership is more than a position; it’s about action, growth, and impact. My passion lies in developing people into socially just leaders who create meaningful change. As a master’s student in Higher Education Administration at Florida State University, I focus on empowering minoritized communities by helping students recognize their leadership potential and use it to uplift others. With experience in residence life, student conduct, and leadership development, I understand how identity, capacity, and efficacy shape leadership journeys. My goal is to ensure that leadership isn’t just accessible, it’s transformative. I apply this work in residential life by fostering spaces where students not only feel heard but are equipped with the skills, confidence, and awareness to lead with integrity and justice. By mentoring students, creating impactful programs, and engaging in critical conversations, I strive to make residential life a place where leadership development happens every day.
