About Marea Swaffer

I have always had a curious mind, constantly asking "but why?" If I can learn it, I can understand it. The same approach propelled me into a degree in Packaging, the baby between Engineering and Business. I am calculated and passionate about data and process improvement, but also want a stake in the decision being made. My love of cross functional communication and collaboration has fueled my career journey. FedEx provided the platform to work with incredible internal partners while offering packaging support to hundreds of customers. I will always be thankful for the business acumen gained here - especially as a young professional. This experience led to my transition to Michaels, quickly driving me into a supply chain management role. I now lead company wide projects, oversee all Distribution Center based eCommerce (8 locations), work with WMS/OMS systems testing and enhancements, and more recently have leaned into long term strategy discussions. I live by the mantra "health is wealth" and prioritize staying active and my mental health. Growing up in Northern Michigan gave me an appreciation for the outdoors in the summer (and the south in the winter!). I've always been close to sports, playing in high school and working in athletics in college, and am always down to catch a game - either local or on the road. When I am not traveling I love spending time with my family and friends, cooking and conversation filling the room.
