About Marena Smith

Mapbox is the developer platform for digital maps, navigation, address search, and location data. As the head of developer engagement on the Mapbox Marketing team, I connect with developers across the Mapbox community to learn about the amazing things that are #builtwithmapbox. I shape and create Mapbox content for developer audiences, including virtual events, webinars, learning resources, blog posts and more. I also oversee our support of nonprofit organizations and indie dev projects. I came to Mapbox via a passion for creating maps, both digitally and via participatory mapping processes. I have a background in planning, natural resource management, legal empowerment, and community-driven development. I have worked alongside communities and organizations in Kenya, Uganda, Liberia, Nepal, Myanmar, and Indigenous nations across Canada.
