Background

About Margaret Hellwarth

I currently oversee international services at Scripps Research, including support for international students on campuses in La Jolla, CA, and Jupiter, FL. My small and excellent team is tasked with immigration expertise to bring international students and scholars from all over the world to the US for biomedical research. I have worked in international education since 1987 and have had the opportunity to become proficient in many areas, including immigration law related to higher education and working with visas in the F-1, J-1, TN, E-3, H-1B and permanent residence categories. I also have advanced skills in orientations and presentations, academic and immigration advising, training and teaching, networking, advocating, and developing resources. I have had the opportunity to do recruiting and marketing, both in the US and in Latin America. I enjoy working with international students and scholars tremendously and have had a very rich life of meeting people from all over the world, helping them, and having the privilege of seeing them succeed and move on to many great careers.
