About Margaret MacRi

As a graduate of Simmons College with my MS in Library and Information Science, I studied programming and services for children, children's literature and library management. My first professional position was as Children's Assistant/Floater at the Bristol Public Library in Bristol, CT where I planned children's programs and split my time working in the adult reference department. After 3.5 years in Bristol, I took a position as the Children's Services Librarian with the Simsbury Public Library in Simsbury, CT. During my tenure, I acted as the Interim Department Head of Children's Services and performed the administrative tasks needed to run a children's room. Since 2017, I have been with the Collins Branch of the Cambridge Public Library in Cambidge, MA. As a Youth Services Branch Librarian, I handle collection development, programming and daily operations of a small neighborhood branch. Additionally, I serve as part of a team of youth services librarians at the Main Cambridge Public Library one day per week.
