Background
About Margo Lydon
A visionary leader, experienced workplace mental health and wellbeing advisor and systems-change thinker, I achieve national transformation and impact in workplace mental health and wellbeing, having influenced reform in policy and practice and delivered measurable behavioral change initiatives across industries. Pragmatic, innovative and entrepreneurial, I’ve led numerous industry-first initiatives, from concept to achieving national and international profile, influence and impact including framework development, product and service innovations, and delivered numerous high energy and engaging keynote presentations on the speaking circuit. From an executive career that spans over 20 years in mental health, I bring positive energy to influence real-world reform, from leadership roles as a CEO, Non-executive Board member, executive and strategic advisory work and strategy design and advocacy. I successfully bring together diverse stakeholders to deliver evidence-informed and useful outcomes that positively impact people, business, and communities. How? I identify strategic gaps and new opportunities, drive change, and create strategic alliances with a focus on achieving systems-change outcomes. My passion for providing evidence-informed, practical, and strategic advice on creating thriving, sustainable and productive workplaces, has fuelled my growing curiosity about the intersect of two ‘complex constructs’ – productivity and wellbeing. I’m driven to continue exploring the evidence and practices that provides organisations with a strategic and practical framework to implement and measure both. This passion is shared at The Wellbeing Outfit, where I am privileged to work with the innovative and high impact team, where optimal wellbeing and high performance are equally valued in the design and delivery of workplace programs and services that achieve sustained change.Having been a CEO for 12 years, where I led the growth from start-up to a national organisation at the forefront of workplace mental health and wellbeing in Australia, has grounded my extensive expertise in evidence and practice. I remain active on significant national, state and industry alliances and formal advisories, influencing reform in policy and practice. Drawing from Harvard Business School’s ‘Shared Value’ business strategy (solving social issues profitably), I use these principles to partner with organisations and industries who are driven to create both economic and social value, by making a real difference to their people and business, through positive change.
