About Maria A. Herrera

I am the co-founder of CH Global Capital, an investment and financial advisory firm with offices in New York City and Sao Paulo, Brazil, and three divisions:(i) Outsourced Chief Investment Officer to family offices and trusts; alternative asset manager;(ii) strategic and corporate finance advisory; and principal investments. Over my decades-long career in asset management, investment banking, management consulting, investment advisory and direct investments, I have developed deep expertise in the following areas: • Evaluating financial performance and strategic opportunities to drive shareholder value in companies in multiple industries, particularly financial services, consumer, healthcare, agribusiness and selected technology (e-commerce, fin-tech, software and services) • Advising on optimal capital structures for both projects as well as companies • Building long-term “endowment type” portfolios focused on capital preservation and achieving superior “risk-adjusted” returns through asset class diversification (including alternatives) • Family office structure and issues related to succession planning • Endowment investment programs and fiduciary best practices associated with managing investments, portfolio construction and asset allocation for multigenerational trusts, foundations and non-profits. I have forged close relationships with the controlling shareholders of leading businesses and family offices globally, as well as “best-in-class” asset management and investment firms. I am the trusted advisor of several prominent families, and have served as a board member of, or advisor to, family foundations, non-for-profit organizations, and private and public companies.
