About Maria Andersin

I have made a long career at the historical Lotta Svärd Museum managing all levels from museum assistant to director of the museum. Working with exhibitions has been my absolut favorite task in the museum field. I enjoy the whole process from ide, scriptwriting, content planning, visual planning och technical production, and last but not least the opening. An important part of an exhibition process is also to study the impact it has on its visitors. What thoughts and en feelings can an exhibition evoke? A well planned exhibition can and should have an impact on its visitors. The film/media productions I have been involved in walks hand in hand with work with exhibitions production. It is all about storytelling. Due to my long experience of working with themes around social science I have interesting and analytic perspectives to offer in especially documentary films, talk shows and discussion programs. My organizational skills supports team leading and working in creative surroundings. Highlights, since 2016 when I found my own production company, has been the work with an exhibition on Finnish warchildren The exhibition is one of four nominees from Finland for the EU Prize for Cultural Heritage, Europa Nostra Awards 2019. Another fascinating work has been developing a pilot for a tv-program that aims to make stereotypes and prejudices on different social groups visible. This was a project led by the University of Helsinki and financed by the progressive Kone Foundation.
