About Maria Arapi

Professional Life~~ In my first job, I developed 2 years of customer support working in the hospitality sector; gaining customer-facing values. I have built on those previous years of experience of customer support from my previous part-time job at my parent's business which resides in the hospitality sector by managing and working with people's strengths and weaknesses which is now one of my many strong suits. After the two years of hospitality work, and obtaining three A-Levels, I am currently employed in Capula's IT department as a Junior IT Engineer as well as having been enrolled on the Digital and Technology Solutions course as a higher apprentice student. Capula employed me in 2020, and, through gaining expertise in technology solutions, this has opened many doors for me. Some of the technology solutions that I have led and been involved in have been broadcasted company-wide by directors.~~Personal Life~~ I have a C1 proficiency in Spanish. I always communicate in Spanish where I can with Spanish-speaking staff members. I was an avid British 8-Ball Pool player. I have played at County and University level. Our University’s Women’s team placed 2nd in the BUCS Trophy Cup in February 2022 out of all UK universities. In my spare time, I read and review books as well as go to the gym three/four times a week. I develop my cyber security and information technology skills outside of my studies as, in both my personal and professional opinions, it is crucial to maintain understandings of modern technologies and vulnerabilities.~~University Life~~ I have recently been awarded a First Class Honours on my Level 6 Digital Technology Solutions university course. I was the Level 6 Student Representative (2022-2023) for my peers at Staffordshire University. I strive to help students work towards their degrees by displaying an interest with regards to how improvements can be made to further support them at a student level.
