About Maria Decio

My name is Maria Decio, and I am a Double Master Degree student in Policies and Governance in Europe at LUISS Guido Carli University, in Rome, and King’s College London. I previously graduated with Honours from the University of Amsterdam, where I majored in European Law and undertook a minor in Law and Economics. Thus far, my academic focus has been on the functioning of the European Union. During my undergraduate studies I worked part-time as a CDD Underwriting Analyst at Adyen, a fintech company operating in the payments sector. In the summer of 2023 I worked as an In-House Counsel at Confagricoltura - Italy’s first organisation for the protection and representation of agricultural businesses - within its EU and International Affairs team. My tasks included monitoring EU agricultural policy developments, EU and extra-EU policy research, drafting policy reports for internal and external use, attending meetings with various ministries and ambassadors and taking minutes. A genuine fan of sports, I have played competitive volleyball for several years and reached the podium for the Italian Under 16 volleyball championship while in an Under 13 team. In October I ran my first Half Marathon in Richmond, London.
