About Maria Falchetti

Maria Falchetti was born in 1996 Poggibonsi - province of Siena. Since she was a child she developed her passion for art: she studied singing and piano, passionate about drawing and cooking. She early learnt English since she had the chance to spend time in New York, thanks to some close American family friends. After graduating from high school (2015) she starts studying fashion design - her greatest passion - at NID - Nuovo Istituto Design in Perugia where she could improve her skills in team working and leadership by coordinating her group class for the developing and organization of annual school’s runway shows in 2017 and 2018. During her BA she developed tailoring abilities, as well as graphic and drawing skills, by hand and with Adobe softwares (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign). At the same time, she had been working in her family’s business - an important furniture and design shop - as assistant visual designer and sales assistant. Right after her BA degree (July 2018) she has the chance to work at Lorena Antoniazzi (Stern International) within the style office. Just a few months later (November 2018) she decides to continue her studies at the prestigious Accademia di Costume & Moda in Rome, with an MA degree in Alta Moda and Fashion Design. Within the MA program, she had the chance to do an internship at Spazio Chirale in Rome (July to September 2019), based on the use of new technologies in fashion, such as 3D printing, laser cut, resins, plotter printing on fabric and so on. While she was still working on her graduation thesis for the Master’s - at 23 years old - she starts working at Accademia Costume & Moda as Assistant for the new class of Alta Moda Master, helping its director with the organization of trips and classes, and supporting the students with their projects and the consecutive translation of classes from Italian to English. This opportunity is helping her to develop her fashion design and research skills together with her team work and leadership abilities.
