About Maria Fleischer

While I find almost every branch of the Game Design process to be very interesting, I am mainly focussing on Gameplay Programming and Game Design / System Design myself. I also try my hand at Shaders and VFX, I enjoy UX and UI Design, Narrative Design, and making Visual Design concepts for early prototypes. I am able to organize myself very well and am able to plan ahead, I can view my own work critically and also give constructive feedback to other team members. I value communication, teamwork, and team members that speak up when they see problems in a project. I have learned that it is more important to create a coherent project than to hold on to ideas I personally liked and am always open to creative new approaches and ideas to anything I am working on. I am passionate about critical discussions of history, colonialism, whiteness, gender roles, and homophobia and I stand for a positive and inclusive portrayal of minorities, anti-racism, and diversity in both gaming companies and in video games.
