About Maria Grimaldi

Hi, my name is Maria Grimaldi I'm from a small town near Valencia, Venezuela. But a couple of years ago, I moved to Caracas for my bachelor's degree. Recent grad with a Bachelor's in Computer engineering.(April 2022) Currently, I'm working as an Open source developer with a backend emphasis at eduNEXT, a Colombian-based company that offers E-learning services based on the Open edX project. Since my first contribution to Open edX, I have made it my mission to stay close to the open-source community since I know firsthand its impact on the educational systems in places like Venezuela. At the begging of 2022, I was nominated as a Core Contributor by one of the Open edX project maintainers. And in February, after two years contributing to the project, I was accepted by the community into the program. So right now, I'm helping the project increase its quality and impact across communities. As for my future, I hope to stay close to the open-source community. In my free time, you'll find me binge-watching series or testing out a new restaurant 🥳
