Maria Halasz (B.Sc, MBA, GAICD) joined Genetic Signatures as CEO in March 2026. Prior to this she was leading the New Ventures team at UNSW. Previously she was CEO of Stride Equity, a venture group funding innovative, early-stage companies. With extensive experience and network in venture capital, the listed markets and commercialising technologies in Australia, USA, Europe and Asia, Maria is a respected industry leader and sought after speaker. As CEO of ASX Listed Anagenics (ASX:AN1) between 2017 and 2021, Maria has successfully spearheaded the acquisition and eventual licensing of the midkine technology portfolio, and commercialisation of the FGF5 inhibitor products.A graduate of the University of Western Australia (BSc and MBA) Maria began her executive career as an analyst, which lead to work in venture capital funding technology-based businesses and, later, to senior positions in corporate finance and senior executive roles in life sciences.Maria is a Non-Executive Director of the Garvan Research Foundation and ACM Biotechnology Pty Ltd, a subsidiary of a Singapore based technology company.
