About Maria Lander

I have 29 years of nursing experience. I am a change agent at the hospital and have been involved in CAP, work-out and Six Sigma projects. I enjoy the use of LEAN priniciples and incorporating changes to make improvements in patient care. I have presented at Quality Report-outs regarding Sepsis patients and I have taught classes for the Nurse Residency program. I am certified in ACLS/BLS and certified in Nursing Professional Development. My career goal is to work for a healthcare facility that is committed to meeting the needs of its customers and employees. I would like to work in a position where I will use my nursing clinical backgound, incorporate simulation and classroom performance system (CPS) instruction technology, and use evidence based practice to improve patient outcomes through performance improvement efforts. I am interested in mentoring others and working with interprofessional teams to improve patient care. An article that I worked on with several other colleagues was published in the International Wound Journal. It is titled "Medical device related pressure ulcers in hospitalized patients". Specialties: Leadership as Past-chairperson for Preceptor Advisory group, previous Clinical Education Coordinator, ICU Performance Improvement, Professional Development, SWAT, Dialysis Focus group, Mock Code, and Patient Education. Chair of the Critical Care Strategic Planning Committee. Interested in Interdisciplinary Simulation projects. AACN Board Member and Community Outreach chair.
