About Maria Liljeroth

As a Student Information Officer for Akademikerförbundet SSR, I have the privilege of serving as a bridge between the association and students. In this role, I have planned and led initiatives including member recruitment, study visits, lectures, events, and workshops. These experiences have honed my skills in project management and taught me the importance of tailoring content to students’ needs and interests. Responsiveness, thorough preparation, and clear objectives have proven essential, not only for strong results but also for a positive participant experience. Being recognized as the top recruiter during autumn 2024 and spring 2025 shows that my commitment and approach make a difference. By creating relevant, engaging activities, I have strengthened the association’s presence and fostered long term engagement among current and future members. My role on the Election Committee for the SACO Student Council (2025–2026) has deepened my understanding of recruitment and organizational work. Together with three colleagues, I am responsible for nominating candidates for various positions within the council. This involves planning nomination periods, managing social media campaigns, conducting interviews, and drafting candidate statements for the 2026 congress. We strive for an inclusive recruitment process that ensures equal opportunity for everyone. This assignment demands structure, diplomacy, and collaboration, three qualities I particularly enjoy. Contributing to matching the right people with the right roles is both rewarding and meaningful. ‍ I hold a bachelor’s degree in Personnel and Working Life and a master’s degree in Business Administration with an international focus, specializing in International HRM. My education has provided insights into how organizations can grow strategically and sustainably, focusing on both people and operations. My background as a registered nurse with extensive experience in dementia and elderly care has taught me the importance of empathy, patience, and creating trust and security, qualities I deeply value in all contexts. In my free time, you’ll often find me in nature with my dog Vilda or enjoying a game night with friends. I dream of living in the countryside with my own farm, animals, and a large kitchen garden. On my bucket list are visiting every filming location from The Lord of the Rings and learning to play the ukulele.
