About Maria Mannone

Maria Mannone (Ph.D.) is a theoretical physicist and a composer. She's currently researcher at the National Research Council (CNR), Italy, developing a research on physical models for neurological diseases between CNR, University of Potsdam, and Ca' Foscari University of Venice. Author of more than 100 articles, some of her 6 books have been published by Springer and Palermo University Press. Her knowledge of English is certified by Cambridge Advanced (level C1, 194/210, grade B), that of French by DALF (level C1), and that of German by Goethe-Zertifikat (level B1). She earned three Masters in Composition, in Piano, and Orchestral Conducting at the Music Conservatory of Palermo. She attended a film music course at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana of Siena. Completed classical studies, she earned cum laude the Master in Theoretical Physics a the University of Palermo. She studied Scientific Illustration at the Academy of Fine Arts. In 2013 she earned the Master 2 ATIAM at the IRCAM-UPMC Paris 6 Sorbonne. She achieved the Ph.D. in Composition at the University of Minnesota, in Minneapolis (USA). Author of symphonic and chamber music, she also composed a lyric opera. Some of her musical compositions have been performed at the Festival delle Orestiadi of Gibellina, by the Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana, and at Teatro Massimo of Palermo.
