About Maria Monno

I am an Italian Master Graduate in Modern Languages and Literatures,fluent in German and English. I am competent in translation studies including semi-automated corpus-based translation, linguistics, literature, intercultural communication science. I am currently working in BMC Switzerland as a warranty manager for south and east Europe. The bike industry has always been my dream. Before that I was employed in Targa Telematics as a Customer Care specialist, especially dealing with improving and building customer care processes. Previous work experiences were in the automotive industry, still in Warranty Management and After Sales / Technical Support for Italian- German- and English-speaking countries, offering expertise and supporting customers and/or service partners with product issues, questions and breakdowns. I lived and worked abroad in Berlin, where I was a trainee in community management for a start-up in the sport branch, and in Vienna as a native-speaking teacher of Italian. These experiences have not only improved my linguistic awareness and my competences in applied linguistics, but also turned out to be a perfect training for my team working, organisational and communication skills. Meanwhile, I have often worked as a freelance translator and proofreader - for books, articles, scientific papers, websites, apps games - or as language teacher. I am a very dynamic woman, I have varied cultural interests and enjoy receiving many inputs, being social and helping others. I have a passion for travelling, meeting people and exploring. I have a whole lot of hobbies! I like videogames, board and card games, films, literature, rock music, technology, modelling, papercraft, origami, manga & graphic novels, writing, miniature sculpting, sports. I always look for experiences that keep up with my professional and personal preferences & attitudes:)
