About Maria Renner

I realized that I want to study mathematics already when I was a 10 year old girl - just for fun and without knowing what I could finally achieve or enable with it. Already during my mathematics studies I got excited to work interdisciplinarily and to apply mathematical models and statistics in biological, medical and life science context. Since then I have enjoyed to communicate with non-mathematicians and have experienced myself as an interface and a bridge between several science disciplines. Over the past 11+ years I developed from a senior mathematical and biostatistical expert into an interdisciplinary and international R&D project manager and community lead. I achieved that by continuously stretching and leaving my comfort zone, by challenging the status quo and by establishing trustful relationships to the people I work with.
