About Maria S.

With over 15 years of experience in the field of learning design and development for adult learners and 20 years in the K–12 education field for bilingual and ESL learners, I am positioned to empower organizations to enable professionals to learn and rise to new heights in their career of choice by engaging in dynamic learning experiences that help them achieve desired outcomes for the organization. My expertise lies in needs analysis, course design, and development, as well as scenario and performance-based outcome-driven learning solutions that strategically leverage technology to engineer learning paths that focus on what learners need to be able to know and do. I bring experience in instructional and multilingual program leadership, adult learning principles, blended learning methodologies, VLT, ILT, LX, and the unique challenges faced by learning and development professionals. My doctoral studies in Educational Leadership and Administration, with a focus on research and analysis of Latino representation in leadership roles, adult professional learning, and self-efficacy, as well as my graduate coursework in instructional design, further enhance my knowledge and ability to drive positive systems change through upskilling and reskilling professionals in a wide range of organizational settings. Currently, I'm honing my instructional design and development skills by expanding my expertise with software tools such as: → Articulate Rise 360 → Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel → Google Suite → Canva Design Suite → Canvas LMS → Vyond → Genially → Microsoft Planner → Chat GPT Combined with my growing knowledge of AI prompting frameworks and their role in learning industries, I am empowered to create impactful and learner-centered dynamic experiences that empower organizations by building staff capacity.
