About Maria Saade

I began my career as a journalist in Syria, driven by a deep love for storytelling and a commitment to highlighting the issues that matter to us as human beings. For two years, I worked as a reporter, followed by three years as a TV journalist in Syria, where I gained a deeper understanding of media, communication, and the power of truth. My journey then took me to Lebanon, where I spent two years working in TV production as a production coordinator. Throughout this time, my passion for art and cinema remained constant—and truly came to life when I moved to Canada in 2013 and transitioned into the field of visual effects. Visual effects became my bridge to the world of filmmaking. It connected me with directors, artists, and storytellers from around the world. Over the past several years, I’ve worked as a VFX producer on numerous high-end films and television shows, and in 2025, I was honored with an Emmy nomination for Best Visual Effects in a Single Episode. I love working with people to bring stories and art to life. I believe in collaboration, equality, and that our actions define who we are. For me, storytelling—whether through journalism, TV, or visual effects—is a powerful way to connect, reflect, and create change.
