About Maria Spencer

Systems-Driven Executive | Storytelling Advocate | Grant Writer | Champion for Equity & Early Learning I’m an accomplished early childhood professional with 20+ years of experience advancing systems that support children and families from birth through age five. My expertise extends across trauma-informed practices, disability inclusion, early intervention, and workforce development—and my leadership has shaped programs at both the direct service and policy levels. Throughout my career, I've led complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives—overseeing cross-functional teams, managing integrated budgets, and implementing large-scale professional development and technical assistance projects. I bring a proven track record of successful grant writing that aligns innovative programming with funding priorities, turning vision into sustainable impact. Whether shaping narratives for funders, presenting at state conferences, or developing statewide training systems, I leverage strong communication, emotional intelligence, and strategic planning skills to drive collaboration and outcomes. I havet the ability to translate insights from education and human services into any setting. My leadership, program design, and storytelling skills are adaptable across sectors that value equity, inclusion, and measurable impact.
