About Maria Surfaro

I am a Mechanical Engineer with a master degree in Biomechanical Engineering with experience in biomedical materials acquired during the research period in the University of Brescia, and in biomedical devices since 2018 as Quality Engineer in Orthofix Srl.The aim of my job is to ensure the quality of products and processes in conformity with standards, directives and laws applicable. This is possible thanks to a strictly collaboration with supplier and other departments promoting activities like risk management process, design verification, validation and final release.Key activities and aspects are- Problem Solving and Root Cause Analysis- Key Performance Indicators (KPI) calculations and process monitoring- Corrective Actions and Preventive Actions (CAPA)- Over sign and management of non-conformities internal and from the market (as complaint)- Test planning for product or process validation- Lead and participate in the development and/or improvement of manufacturing processes for existing or new products- Internal and External Audit- Lean and Kaizen principles.
