About Maria Teka

I have a general banking experience in excess of 16 years, which includes amongst others the sales and legal experience. Most of my experience, however, was focused in a Credit environment, spanning in excess of ten years. Having started my career in a Small business environment and moving to Corporate, I am able to make an informed decision on any credit deal, from just a mere overdraft facility to property finance. I have developed a passion for credit in both the personal and commercial markets. I have a passion for analysing financial statements, cash flow projections and credit applications from end to end, i.e. businesses (small, medium, large and corporate) and individual credit applications. I am highly driven and goal orientated individual, and I have passion for people. Though my position at the moment is that of ‘Manager of Self’, I have also had extensive exposure in people management, focusing on career and leadership development and coaching. I enjoy credit assessment of not only simple but also complex transactions. In my endeavour to leave my comfort zone, and the yearning for knowledge, this year, 2014, I am studying Post Graduate Diploma in Project Management. With the skills that I will be acquiring I will be in a position to manage projects and services rendered. I will be able to take accountability for the delivery and output of cost, planning and risk management, while managing and supporting all projects in the business. With my positive attitude and people skills, I am able to fit in any environment.
