About Mariah Fairman

I am a graduate from Oregon State University, with a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Sciences, and Education with an option in Health and another in Family and Consumer Sciences, as well as a minor in Public Health. I was a Resident Assistant at OSU for two years. I was a live-in mentor for 200+ students of diverse backgrounds, and I helped to provide a healthy and inclusive environment. I was part of a team of 13 Resident Assistants who all manage crisis and bias incidents, as well as develop educational programs for students. I also worked for Disability Access Services at OSU as a Student Worker at the Testing Center for four years. I prepared and administered exams, communicated with OSU faculty via email, phone and in person. I have been a student athlete on the OSU Women's Lacrosse team since 2015. In the 2016-17 academic year I was Vice President of the team, and helped to coach. For the 2018-19 academic year I have been elected as the team's Treasurer. My career goal is to work on the west coast, as a health teacher in a large public high school. I have a passion for the outdoors, exercise, health and nutrition. I strive to have an impact on the lives of my students by encouraging them to be aware of personal health and well-being.
