About Mariah Maxfield

I am honored to dedicate my time as an Educator of Mathematics within an educational institution, to a cause that is bigger than myself. I am embarking on my 5th year as an educator and mathematics team-lead. I work both passionately and with purpose, upholding my goal of transforming young minds while providing students with the educational tools that will guide them both in and out of my classroom. I abide by my personal philosophy of education: The most important aspect of teaching is to utilize dedication and passion for the development of students’ educational, social, and emotional needs. Doing so by understanding, challenging, and exemplifying qualities of a leader and role model. My first year teaching was during the COVID-19 Pandemic, and I am proud that I was able to achieve the following- 4-8 Mathematics Content Exam passed with a 98%- PPR Exam passed with a 94%- STAAR performance passing rate 30% higher than state average I am a self-starting, motivated individual with a vast range of professional and educational experience, all which contributes to my cultivated skill-set below. I am skilled in many technological programs. These include but are not limited to Google Programs, Microsoft Office, NWEA Assessments, IXL Learning, TEKS Resource System, Eduphoria, and TEA Assessment Platforms. I am open and eager to learn more software/systems. I obtained my B.S. in Mathematics in May of 2018 with Cum Laude Honors (3.6 GPA). My collegiate involvement included the NCAA-SAAC, Pi Mu Epsilon Mathematical Collegiate Honor Society, UT Tyler Collegiate Cheerleading, FCA, and Student Government.
