About Mariah Smith

With over 25 years of experience in military, government, private industry, and non-profit sectors, I have an extensive background in combining organizational leadership, operational planning, and interagency coordination. My military experience, including deployments to Afghanistan and Iraq and as a Legislative Liaison, provided me with a profound understanding of defense and national security. These experiences have been integral in shaping my approach to strategic communication and policy development, particularly in my interactions with Congressional committees and key defense stakeholders. In addition to my current position as Director of Federal Operations for Accrete AI, I serve as a Board Member for No One Left Behind (nooneleft.org), a nation-wide organization that supports our wartime allies from Iraq and Afghanistan, and as a Town Council Member for Stephens City, VA, a historic small town in the Shenandoah Valley. Through these roles, I demonstrate my passion and commitment to serving diverse communities, promoting human rights, and fostering collaboration and innovation. I am also a published author and freelance writer, with a master's degree in Security Management, an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Vanderbilt University, and a graduate of the FBI National Academy. In my personal time I volunteer with the Middleburg Humane Foundation fostering kittens while they await adoption and enjoy life on my small farm with my horses, chickens, and bees.
