About Marian McDonnell
Dr Marian McDonnell is a researcher at the Institute of Art, Design and Technology, Dun Laoghaire, Ireland. Marian's current research interests are focused on the role of design, technology and psychology in User Experience and Interaction Design. She is particularly interested in the area of designing,developing and evaluating instructional technologies for individuals with cognitive impairments. She previously worked on the Stop Disabuse Erasmus + research project, designing online instructional materials to protect vulnerable adults from bullying and cyber-bullying. She is presently working on designing instructional resources for the same user group.She lectures and supervises Masters students in the area of User Experience design. Recent national and international conferences at which Marian has presented papers have focused on interface design recommendations for individuals with cognitive disability and on other interesting areas of user experience.
