Background

About Marie Knibbe

I am an enthusiastic and innovative educator with a demonstrated commitment to helping people achieve their goals and reach their potential. My professional expertise, communication skills, and ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people make me an integral part of team efforts to reach program goals As a Program Director I have demonstrated leadership in program design, curriculum development, staff and volunteer training and supervision, building/maintaining community partnerships, and meeting grant reporting expectations. As an Instructor of Adult Basic Education, GED, and Employment Training, I have extensive experience in small/large group and individualized settings. I have had success working with a variety of student populations including women, out-of-school youth, college students, ex-offenders, and older adults. I have refined the ability to develop contextualized, learner-centered, goal based curriculum and programming; implement thematic and relevant activities to build reading, writing, math, computer, and work readiness skills for GED, ABE, and basic literacy learners, and consistently document learner progress via traditional and alternative assessment procedures.
