About Marie Lambert

I am a writer, editor, and researcher passionate about helping professionals and brands tell human-centered stories that resonate with their audiences. I specialize in producing long-form content and thought leadership for legal professionals, non-profits, and tech companies. In short: I translate complicated, technical concepts into language that that your audience can understand and trust. I've honed my craft as a writer and researcher across academia, corporate communications, and book publishing. I have a PhD in Comparative Literature from Cornell University, where I wrote a dissertation on modern African adaptations of Greek tragedy. At Cornell, I also designed and taught a series of undergraduate writing seminars, where I coached multilingual students pursuing diverse fields of study (from engineering to hotel management to agricultural science) in developing fundamental skills in critical reading, analytical writing, and expressive communication. Before heading to Ithaca, I developed my eye for storytelling while working on the editorial and production sides of New York book publishing. I earned my MA at Cornell and my BA in English at Amherst College. After completing graduate school, I began work as an associate writer at the corporate content studio Sharp Pen Media. There, I pitched bylines, crafted thought leadership columns, and developed other content for a variety of B2B tech companies. Today, I operate as an independent writer and consultant who works with a range of professional and commercial clients. As a trained researcher, I'm open to projects involving diverse subject areas, from employment law to transportation policy to marketing strategy.
