About Mariel Depalma

Over seven years of library experience working at Baldwin Public Library as a page. On July 12th 2015, I was hired as a full-time librarian in the Children's section. I have worked the reference desk, done programs including Toy Time, Summer Story Times, the Summer reading crafts, Teens, Tots and Tales and Tots Night Out. I also run the class visits, the display cases, computer stats, ordering of new materials and will have headed a Graphic Novel book discussion. In January of 2022 I became the Head Librarian of Teen Services at the Baldwin Library. I was the Administrative Assistant at the Oyster Bay Historical Society from September 2014-July 2015 where I paid the bills, kept track of finances through QuickBooks, helped set up for events and exhibitions, answered the phone, made bank deposits and assisted the librarian with archival work. I have received my Masters degree in Library Science in May, 2014. I also interned at Viacom in New York City where I cataloged and prepared various media for shipment to storage facilities and took care of requests from circulation.
