About Marijn Berg

Bioinformatics PHD student focusing on single cell transcriptomics and its many applications in researching airway diseases, particularly asthma. Graduated from the excellent bioinformatics program of the Hanze University of Applied Science and after an internship at the UMCG department of Pathology and Medical Biology started in that group as a technician. Moved on to doing my PhD in a collaboration of that group and the Pulmonary Medicine department at the Erasmus MC Rotterdam. Also involved in many other collaborations local, national and international. Broad expertise in single cell transcriptomics and genomics. Skilled in R, Python, Java, CUDA, bash, and experience with several other Experience communicating my research with a diverse audience ranging from fellow experts, physicians, students, professionals in adjacent fields, and laymen. Always eager to jump into new projects and look into creative ways to apply different methods to the data to look at it in novels ways.
