About Marika Lovato

After graduating in Chinese Language and Culture from Ca’ Foscari University of Venice in 2003, I followed my curiosity (and a bit of wanderlust) and spent several years between China and Southeast Asia—studying, working, and soaking in cultures. I lived in Shanghai for extended periods, then returned to Italy to start my career in the public sector as a cultural and linguistic facilitator. I later moved into the private sector as an International Sales Representative. For a few years, I traveled across Asia and South America, learning the art of sales and negotiation directly in the field—no textbook could’ve taught me better! Over the past fifteen years, I’ve been working in manufacturing companies, building a strong background in international sales, order management, and marketing. While I’m a Sinologist by education, I’ve come to realize that my true calling lies in Marketing, Strategy, and Building Organizations—and languages are simply some of the tools I use to get there. Today, I’m proud to serve as Head of Marketing and Sales at ESSEGI Automation s.r.l, where I lead a multicultural team of Area Sales Managers and a cross-functional Marketing & Communication Department. I collaborate with external consultants to bring fresh energy, strategic clarity, and customer value to everything we do. On a more personal note, I’m passionate about languages, meaningful travel, and cultivating healthy, constructive relationships. I’m also lucky to be part of a multicultural family that constantly broadens my perspective and keeps my mind open.
