About Marika Sorsa

I started working in Hannes Snellman Attorneys Ltd. on April 2021. I work in tax team concentrating mainly in value added taxation and other indirect taxes. Tasks include among others general VAT consulting, training and due diligence projects in various lines of business. I have experience in advising large and medium-sized companies as well as public sector operators in various industries in widely different matters related to indirect taxation. I have also lectured in VAT-related topics for businesses, universities and in-house. I find VAT very interesting area to work with due to its complexity and change of rules in different lines of business. I have published a book with my colleague Piia Ahonen. The book concentrates on value added taxation in real estate business. Before Hannes Snellman, I worked at PwC as Indirect Tax Manager. I also have worked in Deloitte & Touche Oy as Tax Advisor and Uusimaa Corporate Tax Office as a Tax Auditor and a Tax Secretary. I hold a law degree from University of Helsinki and I have also graduated as Bachelor of Business Administration from Helsinki Business Polytechnic.
