About Marilyn Ader

I am an experienced biomedical researcher with an extensive history of employment in the academic and health care environments. My research focus has spanned from my early work in gerontology to a decades-long study in the areas of metabolism, obesity, diabetes, and psychopharmacology. I have published extensively in leading scientific journals, and have authored peer-reviewed papers, invited reviews, and book chapters. I am experienced in writing grants and research proposals and have successfully competed for both federal funding and industry support. In addition, I have served as member or chair of many grant review panels and have contributed my time as peer-reviewer of many scientific manuscripts. I have strong editorial experience and judgement, honed during my years as Deputy Editor of Obesity, the leading scientific journal of The Obesity Society. I am well-versed in compliance policy and have served on compliance committees for many years. I am an articulate speaker in both small group discussions and in presentations to large audiences, and I am adept at tailoring my communication to my background of my audience.
