About Marilyn Estes

I have 25 years of corporate, media and academic experience, with a primary focus on quality assurance, communication and training, in diverse fields including business management, sports and entertainment. I have proven communication and negotiation skills, and keen attention to detail. My primary responsibility in several of my jobs has been maintaining detailed quality assurance through each project’s completion. At IBM, I was responsible for quality assurance in marketing campaigns, training materials, and website management. A central thread running through my work has been developing relationships and serving as liaison between departments and organizations. At IBM, it was between the sales teams and the IT teams in website production and marketing. At Paramount Pictures, it was between the various technical, editorial and legal departments. On film sets, it was coordinating information between a minimum of twenty departments, both on set and off, on a daily basis. Most importantly, I make a point of making people feel as comfortable as possible when I work with them. The most valuable lesson I’ve learned in my experience is to never alienate anyone and let them feel like they can’t come to you, especially when there’s a problem. Everyone makes mistakes, and it’s easier and less disruptive to fix problems when they’re new and small. Those are also the people who come to you first with an opportunity.
