About Marilyn Kelley

I had always thought about becoming a teacher as I spent many years in the public education system as a paraprofessional and substitute teacher. However, life changed, and I started learning about environmental and social sustainability. I soon became interested in the topics, and it made me more aware of issues occurring in our world. So, I started to look towards industry instead of academia and using my skills to train people or analyze data in an organizational setting. I enjoy collecting data, including secondary data, which I did for my dissertation that involved determining if COVID-19 impacted the amount of food composted at public education school districts. Data by itself may not tell a story but start comparing data with other data, and a story starts to emerge. I like writing, proofreading, and, when I have time, reading a book; however, my time has been limited due to me working on my doctorate in Management with a focus on Environmental and Social Sustainability. I also adopted five kittens last year, and one of them decided that I would be their person. The one kitten gets worried about me and lays on my neck at times, just purring away.
